Surgitech introduces the Mandibular Distractor - Dynamic Osteosynthesis System, simply MD-DOS. The first distractor in its kind to cope with the lateral force vector to the mandibular condyles.
1998
Surgitech introduces the Trans Palatal Distractor, simply TPD.
This TPD was the first ever bone borne palatal distractor for use with SARPE.
1999
Surgitech introduces the Trans Mandibular Distractor, simply TMD.
A bone borne device fixed on the symphyseal surface replaces the mandibular widening with tooth-borne devices.
2000
The company name Surgitech is replaced by Surgi-Tec.
Surgi-Tec introduces two devices for orthodontic treatment:
the versatile Ortho Bone Anchor;
the Bollard, skeletal anchorage in orthodontics.
The versatile Ortho Bone Anchor, simply OBA, consists of a base-plate with orthodontic fixations (such as hooks, tube and bracket) fixed anywhere on the buccal bony surface.
The Bollard consists of a base-plate and a cylindrical fixation unit with blocking screw fixed on the zygomatic buttress, on the nasal process of the maxilla, on the canine, incisors region or molar region of the mandible.
2005
Surgi-Tec introduces the Crest Expander, simply CE.
The Crest Expander can be used to widen the narrow alveolar crest as an alternative to bone augmentation. With this technique, the ridge is prepared for implantation and sufficient attached gingiva is obtained.
Surgi-Tec enlarges his Trans Palatal Distraction device with the TPD All-in-One.
The advantage of the TPD All-in-One is the mobile joint of the abutment plates to the distraction module.
