Often a too narrow alveolar crest requires bone augmentation prior to implantation.
Crest Expansion provides a better alternative to bone augmentation. With the Crest Expander there is no pain or mobility at the donor site. The attached gingiva is distracted simultaneous with the bone segment and enables a better esthetic result for the implants.
Implant placement is possible after extremely short post-operative period (5 to 8 weeks).
The procedure is done under local anesthesia in the private office.
One week after the insertion of the device, the patient is asked to activate it at home by himself. Activation lasts 2 to 3 weeks according to the amount of distraction that is necessary. The device is removed under local anesthesia 1 week after the end of activation. Implants are inserted on the same day or 1 week later.
